Minister of Finance Dr. Mamoun Hamdan said that the increase in salaries and wages under the legislative decrees 23 and 24 issued by President Bashar al-Assad today aims to improve the level of income and the living and economic situation of citizens, pointing out that it would not have been made without the sacrifices and heroics of the Syrian Arab Army in the war on terrorism.
Hamdan said in an interview with the Syrian channel that these two decrees are very important because this increase will affect all civil servants in the state, whether those who are currently on the job or retirees and will start the implementation of the decrees as of the first of next month.
Hamdan said that the total amount of the increase if we talk about this year, which remained one month is 454 billion pounds, but with the entry of the increase of 9 percent early next year will become the annual cost of the increase 495 billion and 368 million pounds.

Hamdan pointed out that under the previous decrees added the amount of 31500 Syrian pounds to the lump-sum salary in the system of salaries and wages for all categories, explaining that the new increase and the integration of living compensation with the original salary will increase the ceiling of salary for all categories so that the ceiling of the first category of 48740 pounds to 80240 pounds and after the increase of 9 Percentage early next year will become 87 thousand and will increase the salary start of appointment for each of the segments of the salary so that the salary of the first category of 21750 pounds to 533250 pounds.
On the pension, Hamdan said: 16 thousand will be added to it and distributed to the basic mass each one according to the share and of course the pension is not subject to insurance or taxes, therefore 16 thousand full.
