Hundreds of police officers in Bavaria have to take two of their final exams again. Because it can not be ruled out that they already knew the questions pretty well in the previous tests. The reason could be an internal leak.
There are "indications that examination contents could have become known within the Bavarian riot police in advance," said the Chief Police Commissioner Herbert Gröschel on SPIEGEL-request. First, the "Bild" newspaper had reported.
According to Gröschel, 720 police students are affected who have been trained for middle-level employment in Bavaria over the past two and a half years. You now have to rewrite the exams on the topics "patrol" and "criminalistics".
Six to eight hours testing on top
The bad news reached the students right before their third written exam, confirms Gröschel. Four tests, each lasting three to four hours, would have to write the budding police actually. That would take another six to eight additional hours of exams. Afterwards, the students have to prove their skills in a practical exam.
Because of the alleged audit leak police have initiated criminal and disciplinary investigations, said Gröschel. According to "Bild" newspaper, an instructor in Nuremberg is suspected of having given tips to the students before the exams. The confirmed Gröschel not: "We investigate in all directions."
