Bolivia's coup authorities have used tear gas against supporters of President-elect Evo Morales who protested in La Paz to denounce the coup authorities.

Thousands of people gathered in San Francisco Square in central La Paz yesterday carrying the coffins of people killed Tuesday by the security forces of the coup authorities in the city of El Alto, adjacent to La Paz, a stronghold of President Morales.

At least eight people were killed by the security forces of the coup authorities during protests in the western city of Alto.

Morales said in a tweet on his Twitter account that the incident was the result of the "genocidal policy" of the "dictatorship", adding that the process that killed the demonstrators was conducted in coordination with the United States.

The death brings to 18 the number of supporters and supporters of Morales since the 10th of this month and more than 110 injured.
