New York (CNN) - Star Wars fans and the new Disney + series, “The Mandalorian”, have another reason to celebrate this holiday season, thanks to the toy maker Hasbro and his long-awaited line of merchandise “baby Yoda. "

The toy company - which has an exclusive Disney license to manufacture toys and clothing related to Star Wars, Marvel, "Frozen" and Disney princesses - announced that it will launch a line of "baby Yoda" toys and products in a report CNBC exclusive.

The “baby Yoda” character, known as “the boy” in the series, made his surprise debut at the end of episode one of “Mandalorian” earlier this month. Director Jon Favreau recently told Collider that his team convinced Disney and Lucasfilm not to make or launch Yoda's toys before the series was released, the best way to control any leaks on the character.

In social networks, fans of the Disney + series have shown their enthusiasm for the adorable alien since they saw her little green face, with her huge eyes, button nose and baby fluff over her head.

"Baby Yoda" merchandise could be available this Friday at Macy's, Target, Kohl's, Zazzle, Hot Topic, Box Lunch and Amazon, according to CNBC, which said it verified the information through an anonymous source familiar with the situation. Hasbro did not immediately respond to multiple requests for comments from CNN Business.

The launch comes at a crucial time for Hasbro and the toy industry in general. Earlier this Friday, CNN Business reported low forward sales figures for toy manufacturers, which would be the second holiday season disappointing for the sector.

Last year, toy manufacturers also had problems in the absence of a Star Wars movie in theaters and the first US holiday season without Toys 'R' Us, which closed more than 700 stores last year.

Additional “Baby Yoda” products will be available at Disney Store, ShopDisney and at Disney parks before the holidays, the network reported. Advance purchases of “Baby Yoda” stuffed animals and other toys will also be available in the coming weeks, although it is still unclear when the products will be shipped.
