The health zone in Palmyra city of Homs countryside has completed the implementation of the five-day national polio vaccination campaign which included the children of the families returning to the city and the communities spreading deep inside the desert.

The director of the health zone, Dr. Walid Odeh, told SANA that the medical staff in charge of the vaccination campaign targeted children from one day to five years of age, pointing out that the mobile teams reached all the communities in the vast desert areas. The areas of Al-Sukhna, Abu Rajmeen, Al-Taybeh, Al-Kom, and the third station, Al-Baydah and Western Bayarat, who returned to it after the availability of safety and stability thanks to the championships of the Syrian Arab Army.

In turn, the supervisor of the national vaccination campaign in Palmyra and Baditat Barakat Asaad explained in a similar statement that there is a great response to the vaccination process by the Badia residents returning to their areas in large numbers after the liberation of the area from the terrorist organization `` Daesh '', pointing out that the vaccine provided is safe and freely available.

It is noteworthy that the workers in the Palmyra health area returned to their main work center within the headquarters of the General Authority of the Palmyra National Hospital after a four-year hiatus, where services are being provided gradually, which confirms the recovery of the health sector in the region.
