Turkish authorities today arrested 53 people under the pretext of association with Turkish preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom the Recep Tayyip Erdogan regime accuses of being behind the July 2016 coup attempt.
The Anatolia news agency, the spokesman for the Turkish regime, citing the prosecutor's office in Ankara that the arrests carried out in 22 provinces across Turkey came after the prosecutor issued arrest warrants for 92 former members of the Air Force.
In the same context, prosecutors in the Northwest Bursa province issued arrest warrants for 46 people, including 26 soldiers on duty under the same pretext.
Erdogan's regime continues to crack down on its opponents in various cities and regions of Turkey, where thousands of people, both civilians and military, have been arrested over the past years, and 150,000 government, military, judiciary, education and other institutions have been suspended or suspended.
