The anti-reform storm has cast a lot of uncertainties on the current district board elections, and the election has received much attention. Although some people have argued that the relationship between the district board elections and the overall political situation is more alienated, the history of Hong Kong has always been around.

"Hong Kong 01" selected five classic battles for everyone in the "Return" area, and which one will be reproduced this year.

When it comes to the political situation affecting the overall situation, it is impossible to say that the 2003 Central and Western District Guanlong Constituency.

Before the 2003 District Council elections, it was very similar to the current anti-reforms. In the first half of 2003, Hong Kong had just experienced the SARS epidemic and the society was still not calm. The then Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa planned to promote the 23 Basic Law legislation with the support of the establishment system, which sparked hundreds of thousands of people protesting on July 1. .

After the demonstration, the government proposed three amendments, planning to enact legislation on July 9, causing public dissatisfaction. Just after the crisis hit, Tian Beijun, then chairman of the Liberal Party, led the Liberal Party to leave the ruling coalition. Tung Chee-hwa finally withdrew 23 pieces of legislation with insufficient support.

Among the 23 legislative incidents, the DAB supported the legislation. Chen Jianlin, then a member of the Legislative Council and chairman of the Kwun Tong Branch, said on July 1 that the demonstrators were misled. In this context, even the Guanlong Constituency in the Central and Western District, one of the traditional establishments, has been shaken.

Ye Guoqian, then vice chairman of the DAB, had been operating in Guanlong for many years. After winning the District Council election in 1999, he entered the Legislative Council by the District Councils in 2000. As for the democrats, there was no one at all to challenge Ye Guoqian. Later, after deliberation, he was played by the Legislative Council member He Xiulan.

He Xiulan is a frontline member. Before the election of the District Council in 2003, he started a group with other people in the pan-people. Other members entered the Wanchai District, and she was selected for Guanlong.

During the district election campaign, He Xiulan advocated that the district boards and politics could not be separated. The DAB was supported by the DAB to support 23 pieces of legislation, and several well-known figures were selected by the popular people. Ye Guoqian had regional work support and the two sides were evenly matched. In the end, He Xiulan defeated Ye Guoqian with 1,869 votes to 1,805 votes, and the result was a surprise to many people including Ye Guoqian himself.

However, He Xiulan was accused of not working in the "squatting" area after being elected. In 2007, he gave up his re-election. In the year, he was elected to be independent and Liang Jianqin, and Ye Guoqian also made a comeback. As a result, Ye won by 2,701 votes, far away from Liang Jianqin who took 162 votes and He took 315 votes to regain the seats.
