The new District Council election will be held tomorrow (24th). Since its election form is the only "true universal suffrage" in Hong Kong, and the recent anti-reform exercise has intensified the public's resistance to mainland China, some people intend to do so. The fish heads mixed in and participated in the event. They continued to advocate "Hong Kong independence" or "self-determination" to accept the "Hong Kong independence" option. They even intended to claim that their "Hong Kong independence" advocated a certain public opinion base. This kind of bad motive to try to turn the district board election into a "Hong Kong independence" debate must be suppressed.

Under section 34 of the District Councils Ordinance, candidates who are validly nominated for election must declare in the nomination form: "Promotion of the Basic Law and guaranteeing allegiance to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region". This provision has in fact completely ruled out the District Council. The debate on "Hong Kong independence" is debated in the election. This year, Zhu Kaidi of the Batang South Constituency in Yuen Long clearly admitted to giving up the position of "Hong Kong independence" and immediately obtained the release of the RO. The Huang Zhifeng of the Haiyi West Constituency in the Southern District refused to completely deny his support, including "Hong Kong independence." The "self-determination" within the ruling was invalidated. It can be seen that the candidates cannot support the political reality of "Hong Kong independence."

Despite this, we still have to see that there are still a considerable number of DC members who express their sympathy towards "Hong Kong independence" or "self-determination". They try to rob the entire election through the current hot political atmosphere. To bring radical political ideas into the platform of the people who should serve the grassroots, the real purpose of it is to fight for personal political interests. The reason why the Returning Officers will release them "into the gate" is precisely the freedom to show the Hong Kong electoral system. However, this does not mean that the public will sell the accounts of these people together.

"Hong Kong 01" has already pointed out that any candidate who advocates "Hong Kong independence" is not worthy of public support because they are only allowed to promote relevant political opinions within the system and are not really interested in improving local people's livelihood. Although we believe that the district council is the basic platform for cultivating and training political talents, its political role should be based on community governance; speculators who scream for democracy and freedom and vent their political sentiment to steal votes are not themselves competent district members. Ignore those naive people who still ignore the political reality and advocate the "Hong Kong independence" option.

Recently, the Central Government has repeatedly put on a tough attitude against the Hong Kong anti-reform movement and various incidents. This is a positive expression of Beijing’s high level of distrust of the people of Hong Kong. In addition to the "violent" cuts, the people of Hong Kong should take the opportunity of this District Council election to firmly say "no" to the absurd appeal of "Hong Kong independence" and use their votes to express their refusal to support those claims. In this way, the candidates for "Hong Kong independence" and "self-determination" can convey to the Central Committee the message of "Hong Kong independence" and non-Hong Kong mainstream thinking, thus rebuilding Beijing's trust in Hong Kong people.
