(CNN) - The children of former Bolivian President Evo Morales, Evaliz and Álvaro, left the country and arrived in Argentina on Saturday, Bolivian state news agency ABI reported.
Bolivia's Interior Minister, Arturo Murillo, tweeted that Morales' children boarded a LATAM airline flight early Saturday morning.
On the instructions of the president @JeanineAnez we gave all the assurances to the children of @evoespueblo to leave the country, this morning they boarded a plane from Latam.
We take care of the family, the children do not respond for the crimes of the parents. # NobodySeRinde #NobodySeCansa pic.twitter.com/MfHdAjizEv

Murillo also posted a photo of what he says are the boarding passes with a stop in Lima.
On Wednesday, the interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Añez, had authorized Morales' children to leave the country safely and receive asylum protection from Mexico. Later, the Bolivian authorities learned that Evaliz Morales withdrew the asylum application, but resided within the Mexican embassy in La Paz.
Evo Morales, who was in power for almost 14 years, accepted an offer of political asylum from Mexico after resigning amid accusations of "serious irregularities" during the October 20 elections and pressure from the country's armed forces.
