Donald Trump faces new charges. This time from his former advisor John Bolton. He now said on Twitter that White House was trying to silence him on Twitter. Bolton dropped several tweets over his previous account on Friday and wrote there that the White House had previously denied him access to this Twitter account.
"Afraid of what I could say?" He shuffled. He was sorry he had to disappoint those who thought he had gone underground, he sneered. It was managed to "free" his Twitter account. He was glad to be back there now. It was the first tweets since Bolton retired from the dispute with US President Donald Trump.
Glad to be back on Twitter after more than two months. For the backstory, stay tuned ........
- John Bolton (@AmbJohnBolton) November 22, 2019Trump had announced on September 10, completely unexpected, the dismissal of Bolton. The president justified the sacking with substantive disagreements. Bolton put things differently then and wrote on the same day on Twitter, he had himself offered the resignation of the President. In the meantime, Bolton had not dropped a single tweet.
Denial of Trump
When asked if he had denied Bolton access to his Twitter account, Trump said in a telephone interview with US television Fox News: "Of course not." He had a good relationship with Bolton. The two would have simply had different views on some things.
In the current impeachment investigation against Trump, the name Bolton repeatedly appeared in witness interviews - and the question of what he knew from the events in the Ukraine (read more about the Ukraine affair here).
So far, it is unclear whether Bolton himself will testify before the congress. According to a New York Times report, his lawyer has signaled that Bolton himself is aware of "many important meetings and conversations" in the affair.
