PARIS - Two people have been killed in torrential rains in southeast France since Friday

Paris-Sana

Two people have been killed in torrential rains that have ravaged southeastern France due to heavy rains since Friday.

The police in the French region of Var said in a statement today that they had found a body near the city of Moi, between the cities of Nice and Marseille, noting that its members also found another body in a car in the nearby village of Cabas.

Flooding of several rivers in southeastern France caused heavy losses as homes, trees, cars and boats were washed away.

In a statement, the French Meteorological Agency expected the floods to ease later as the rains continue, but at a lower frequency.
