Vietnam internship accumulates valuable life experience

Ricky, who has just graduated from the Open University "Bachelor of Science with Honours in Testing Science (Environmental Protection)" program, participated in the "Emerging Industrial Countries Internship Program (Vietnam)" jointly organized by the OUHK and the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Association this summer. Internship at Yihe Precision Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. in Haiphong City for 6 weeks.

Ricky not only accumulated a variety of work experience during his internship, but also met friends from all over the world, which opened his eyes.

During the internship, Ricky participated in the work of different business departments such as the quality management department, printer mold and parts production department, and administrative department. He accumulated a variety of experiences and understood the daily operation of the company. In his spare time, he will also visit local places of interest with local colleagues, experience the local customs, and live a very fulfilling life.

Ricky admits that this internship is not directly related to the subject he is studying, but this is why he signed up. "I have already identified my career goals and plan to focus on the development of testing and certification or laboratory related industries in the next few decades. Why not take advantage of the opportunities now and try other professional fields to accumulate different work and learning experiences?" Ricky He said that when he shared his experience with Vietnam internships during job interviews, employers praised him positively, and said that he had an internship experience in enterprises that gave him an advantage among graduates of Yunyun University.

Ricky has experienced multiple department operations during his internship in Vietnam and accumulated very valuable work experience, which made him more confident in job interviews.

Ricky thanked the university for regularly organizing various internships and exchange groups, and provided resources such as scholarships and internship allowances to encourage students to participate in different extracurricular activities and broaden their horizons. Volunteer first-time exchanges to enrich the soul

Liu Weijun (Philip), now in his fourth year of the Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Applied Economics, also took part in the overseas service learning and exchange group organized by the public university during the summer vacation. During the 8-day service exchange group, Philip and other students not only visited a number of major buildings and attractions, but also volunteered at local nursing homes and orphanages, and exchanged views with teachers and students of Moscow University.

Philip set foot in Russia for the first time, and experienced helping people's happiness and satisfaction in volunteer services.

Throughout the journey, visiting the Russian nursing home was the most profound for Philip. "Before we set out, we all thought that the Russians would be serious and indifferent. Who knew that a group of elderly people were very lively and talkative, and we welcomed our visit with traditional dance. We also rely on beginner Russian and communicate with them" by hand ". , I had a good time and had a good time chatting, and I really felt a little reluctant when I left! "Philip added that visiting the nursing home made him feel the joy and satisfaction of volunteering. On the day of visiting the Russian nursing home, in addition to dancing the Russian national dance with the local elders, Philip and his classmates took the initiative to teach the local elders to write spring and promote the cultural exchange between China and the West. Philip also benefited from a lecture on Russian economic development at Moscow University. Learned in practice at special schools

Eman, a fourth-year bachelor of honours in sports and recreation management at the National University of Public Education, did not go to overseas exchanges or internships as Ricky and Philip did, but went to a local special school for 8 months under the arrangement of the university. Eman said that internships in special schools are very challenging, not only allows her to practice what she has learned, but also greatly improves her EQ and resilience.

Eman said that in theory classes at universities, professors will explain a lot of different professional knowledge and skills, and teach them how to promote others to exercise. After this internship, she realized that it was not easy to actually practice what she learned. She said, "Children with special needs sometimes make unexpected behaviors. For example, a student suddenly stopped and meditated during a run and was unwilling to continue running. Another classmate would suddenly make a loud noise. I am willing to cooperate with the instructions of me and other teachers. I can only try to deal with class progress and order flexibly and flexibly, adjust the content of the class according to the students' emotions, and get along with them with more love and patience. Other students taking the "Sports and Recreation Management" course, like Eman, will be arranged by the school to participate in different internships, visits and exchange activities, accumulate diversified learning experiences, and enhance their professional skills and competitiveness.

This semester, Eman will take an internship at Jiezhi Sports Association to help organize large-scale sports activities. She looks forward to it. She plans to decide on the direction of development after graduation after summing up two internship experiences. "In the past, I thought I would definitely be engaged in event planning.
