Thirteen French soldiers have been killed in a collision between two helicopters during an operation targeting militants in Mali.
According to the French presidency on Monday, six officers, six aides and a Kaburala from the Barkhan force in Mali were killed in a helicopter collision, without giving further details.
A number of French soldiers have been killed since the start of the military operation, dubbed "Serval" in northern Mali in early 2013 under the pretext of fighting armed groups.
