During the fall, he suffered head injury and was certified dead after two days in the hospital. Police suspected a 26-year-old youth in connection with the incident and charged him with one count of murder. The case appeared in the Eastern District Court today (27). At the request of the prosecutor, the magistrate postponed the case until January 8 next year to obtain a report from the toxicology examiner; the defendant continued to remand during the postponement.
Defendant Liang Qingyan, 26, was charged with one count of murder. The charge alleges that the defendant murdered a 63-year-old man Zhou Zhenhe outside Pier 7 of Minguang Street, Central on June 16, resulting in Zhou Zhenhe's death on June 18.
The prosecution in the court stated that the last detention was mainly to obtain the medical report and legal opinion of the deceased, but the toxicological test of the deceased had not been completed, so the cause of death of the deceased could not be confirmed accurately. In this connection, the prosecution applied to adjourn the case until January 8, with the permission of the magistrate, during which the defendant continued to remand.
