Ali Al-Khatib, Director of Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Internal Trade, said that consumer protection patrols continue to intensify their rounds on all commercial activities, including wholesalers, semi-wholesalers and retailers, and take the maximum penalties against anyone who tries to commit violations with regard to raising prices of basic materials, food and consumer products and non-compliance with the circulation of bills.
Al-Khatib said in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the issue of monopoly, fraud, fraud, manipulation of specifications and the sale of expired or corrupt materials is strict.
He pointed out the importance of increasing the effectiveness of the supervisory work and non-complacency with the violators through cooperation with citizens and popular and civil events and through receiving telephone and written complaints and the ministry's page, noting that the number of complaints filed has increased significantly during the past few days and all complaints submitted have been dealt with accurately and at maximum speed according to their type.
Regarding the number of irregularities and seizures, Al-Khatib pointed out that 1581 seizures were recorded during the past four days in all governorates and 516 different commercial activities were closed in all governorates.
