At 2 pm today (27th), the police received a case from Caritas Maanshan Intermediate School, saying that suspected explosives were found. The Police's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Division (EOD) entered the campus investigation, and fire engines and ambulances were on the scene. Sha Tin District Councillor Zeng Suli, Mai Runpei and Zheng Zewen came to understand that according to Zeng Suli Facebook, no one was injured for the time being. According to Mai Runpei's understanding, two students were arrested in the incident and were in possession of dangerous goods. They were returned to the police station accompanied by social workers and lawyers.
Police confirmed the arrest of two men, 17-year-old Zhao and 18-year-old Li, respectively, for possession of explosives.
Caritas Maanshan Middle School issued a statement saying that due to the discovery of unknown chemicals in the park, in order to take care of the safety of all students and students and avoid immediate danger, the school has immediately notified the Fire Services Department to inspect and alert the school. The police were then informed to assist the case. The relevant area of the school department has been closed immediately for the experts to deal with; all the day students have now left the school properly, and the boarding students have been returned to the dormitory department in order to make sure. The school stated that after preliminary understanding, the relevant chemicals may take a long time to be diluted and cleaned up. To facilitate the school ’s cleanliness, classes will be suspended for one day tomorrow.
