The Syndicate of Gas Stations Owners in Lebanon has announced an open strike starting tomorrow morning on all Lebanese territory.
"The strike comes in protest against the failure of the BDL and the companies that imported oil derivatives to comply with what was previously agreed upon," the union said in a statement.
A measure that protects its interests and has already apologized to the citizens for damages.
For its part, the Association of Banks in Lebanon announced in a statement distributed after a meeting held by its board of directors on Thursday, Friday and Saturday on November 28, 29 and 30 November, normal working days in order to secure banking services for citizens, especially the receipt of salaries and wages by the end of the month.
The Assembly condemned the riots and attacks on a number of branches of banks in an unprecedented manner, which are targeting the economic, social and security stability and the interests of all Lebanese.
The Lebanese economic authorities also issued a statement announcing the suspension of the general strike and holding a meeting early next week to take appropriate steps.
Some areas in Lebanon have witnessed sit-ins and demonstrations since the 17th of last month to demand the improvement of the living situation and the fight against corruption and corrupt, including some cut off roads and the closure of a number of schools, banks and institutions.
