Government plans to approve ten short-term rental sites for toll parking lots

Parking spaces in Hong Kong are hard to find. The Shipping Department today (27th) responded in writing to a question from the Legislative Council, stating that the Lands Department intends to grant 10 short-term leases for fee-paying car parks using a simplified tendering procedure between November this year and March next year, including four districts. It offers 1,824 parking spaces. The Transport Department also pointed out that starting from mid-2017, "Autonomous Vehicle Driving Permits" have been issued to 8 different types of autonomous vehicles, and a total of 25 tests have been conducted on designated routes. The Department is also drafting a new "Guidelines for Testing Autonomous Vehicles" to help the industry understand more complex requirements for testing autonomous vehicles.
