As part of the celebrations of the Ministry of Culture Day, the General Organization for Cinema launched the Cinematheque “National Cinema Library” from Al-Kindi Cinema in Damascus.
The project aims to protect the Syrian cinema library, which contains old films related to all aspects of political, economic and artistic life so that they are available to all.
Murad explained that the cinema library allows fans of the seventh art to see all the currents and personalities of cinema and follow the films in accordance with the best conditions of the show.
Nabil Hamam, director of Cinematheque, explained that the project aims to preserve the existing cinematic heritage in Syria, whether locally produced Syrian films or modern and old international films in order to preserve heritage and provide a distinctive cinema service for all fans of the world of cinema.
Critic and director Nidal Kouchaha stated that the Cinematheque project contains a huge cinematic database for all films, including the name and type of the film, director and producer, so that those who wish to attend the film can find it according to the classification they want.
