Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that the Iranian people will continue their course and will not surrender to the plots of enemies.
"The enemies thought they would destroy the Iranian regime by burning hospitals, shops and cars of the people, but the Iranian people proved that they would not surrender to the enemies," Rowhani said in a speech today in the eastern Azerbaijan province of Tabriz.
Rouhani added that "the enemy succeeded in disturbing public security for only 48 hours and had imagined that the crisis would last for months and would cause an internal war in Iran, but the Americans never imagined that the Iranian people would take this intensity to the streets to defend his country."
The Iranian capital Tehran and other cities have witnessed during the past few days rallies rally condemned the riots and chaos that took place in some cities recently and led to significant material damage to public and private property as well as the injury of a number of Iranian security forces.
