The Lebanese army arrested 16 people today in connection with incidents in some Lebanese areas overnight.
The Lebanese National News Agency quoted the Lebanese army command as saying in a statement today: `` Public property, a number of banks and a party building were thrown and unexploded grenades and Molotov cocktails were thrown at the soldiers and threw stones, injuring 33 soldiers in Tripoli in northern Lebanon. ''
The statement added that on the old Sidon road between the areas of Chiyah and Ain al-Rummaneh and during the re-imposition of security and calm in the region, ten soldiers were injured by stone-throwing between a number of people.
The statement pointed out that eight soldiers were injured as a result of stone-throwing between residents and motorcades in Bikfaya while the army units reopened the road, pointing out that the army units were able to restore the situation to normal in various areas and began the investigation with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
The Lebanese army warned in a statement yesterday of the consequences of exposure to public and private property and blocking roads in Lebanon, stressing the need to adhere to national unity and rally around the army and maintain the security and safety of the demonstrators.
