Spain celebrates fifth centenary of the first round the world

500 years ago, the Spanish ship commanded initially by Fernando Magallanes and then by Juan Sebastián Elcano, completed the first round the world. Now, to celebrate the fifth centenary of that expedition, the ship that bears the name of the latter will spend three years arriving at each of the ports visited in the original expedition, coinciding with the corresponding dates. This galeta brig is the most veteran of the Spanish Navy, and for Spaniards visiting it is always a reunion, a link with their land and with their countrymen.
