(CNN Spanish) - After the Constitutional Court of Peru decided to leave Keiko Fujimori released on November 25, the Popular Force leader left prison Friday in Lima where she had been detained for more than a year.
Fujimori supporters took to the streets to celebrate their freedom.
Fujimori is investigated for suspicions of money laundering along with 11 others charged. Although the tax process against her continues, she can wait for the verdict out of prison.
On October 31, 2018, Peruvian judge Richard Concepción Carhuancho had issued a 36-month preventive detention to Keiko Fujimori. The daughter of convicted former president Alberto Fujimori is said to be a member of a criminal organization in the Fuerza Popular party. Fujimori denies the facts that are imputed to him.
