Beirut-Sana

Protests continued in some areas of Lebanon to demand the return of smuggled funds and improve the living situation and fight corruption. Protesters today closed the Central Bank of Lebanon in Zahle and prevented employees and workers from entering and leaving.

The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) said the Lebanese army reopened roads blocked by protesters yesterday due to a strike by petrol and fuel stations, causing a severe crisis in the gasoline.

The agency added that the owners of the station owners Sami Al-Baraks decided to suspend the strike of gas stations starting last night and open the stations to customers after contacts with the Ministry of Energy and thus started the gas stations are operating normally as banks, public schools and high schools opened their doors today.

In Tire and Nabatieh, banks and private and public schools opened their doors as usual as well as gas stations and roads became open to and from the city.

The Lebanese army opened roads that were closed yesterday in Beirut and the north and returned to normal life, as schools, universities and banks opened their doors in Tripoli and the north and gas stations resumed their work after the suspension of the strike while banks are witnessing a strong demand inside and at ATMs.

Some areas in Lebanon have witnessed sit-ins and demonstrations since the 17th of last month to demand the improvement of living conditions, some of which were cut off roads and the closure of a number of schools, banks and institutions.
