London (CNN Business) - Amazon removed a series of Christmas decorations with images of the Auschwitz concentration camps, amid the wrath of the museum that manages the site.

The images of the Nazi death camp complex were used in a variety of tree ornaments, a mousepad and a bottle opener, which the Auschwitz Memorial described as "disturbing and disrespectful."

The images used showed the train tracks leading to the entrance of Auschwitz II-Birkenau and a series of scenes within the fields, where it is estimated that around one million Jews were killed during World War II.

Amazon eliminated the products, which were offered by outside vendors, when the Auschwitz Memorial tweeted about them.

Selling "Christmas ornaments" with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate. Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful. We ask @amazon to remove the items of those suppliers. https://t.co/0uG2JG558e pic.twitter.com/ucZoTWPk1W

The organization then noticed more products for sale that also had images of the extermination camp, which operated in Nazi-occupied Poland. Those products also appear to have been recalled.

Most vendor products present images of tourist sites around the world. A company, which offered a tree ornament that shows a freight car on the tracks to Auschwitz, also continues to sell Christmas ornaments with the Genbaku Dome, the site of the Hiroshima bomb.

Sadly, it is not over yet @amazon. The "Massacre Auschwitcz (!) Birkenau Jewish Death" mousepad is another disturbing online product. We are not sure if @yadvashem would like the "Christmas ornament" with a freight car used for deporting Jews for extermination either. https://t.co/qDEEzqzwSU pic.twitter.com/wXExhFZPmV

An Amazon spokesman told CNN Business in a statement: “All sellers must follow our sales guidelines and those who do not do so will be subject to action, including the possible removal of their account. The products in question have been eliminated. ”

This is not the first time that the site is forced to withdraw products from its market. Earlier this year, a range of products was removed after complaints that they were offensive to Muslims.

In March, several anti-vaccination documentaries were removed from its Amazon Prime Video video transmission services following a commercial report from CNN.
