(CNN Spanish) - Lionel Messi is the favorite among 30 nominees to take the Golden Ball in 2019. It would be the sixth time that the Argentine takes the prize, which will be delivered this Monday at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Messi won his first Golden Ball in 2009, and then in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015.

Sergio Agüero, Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo also stand out in the list of nominees, who equals Messi with 5 Golden Balls to date.

Before the award there will be a red carpet through which the nominees and comitivas will pass and then there will be a cocktail. In addition to the Golden Ball, the Kopa trophy, the best sub21 player, the female Golden Ball, and the Yashin trophy for the best goalkeeper will be awarded.

The ceremony begins at 8:30 p.m. local time, that is, at 4:30 p.m. Argentina and 2:30 p.m. Colombia / Mexico.

In 2018, Croatian Luka Modrić won the prize. In 2017 and 2016 it was in the hands of Cristiano Ronaldo, and the previous year, 2015, was Messi.
