The average transaction for the year was NIS 1,618, about NIS 100 less than last year, but there was a 21% increase in the number of transactions compared to last year.

ERN data also show that retail clothing purchases have shrunk, probably due to the increase in online shopping and overseas purchases. In the clothing sector, there was a 3.2% decrease in transactions compared to last year, and a similar decrease in total transactions as well. In these cases, it is most likely a move to online shopping.

Shai Preminger, CEO of check clearing and payment company ERN, said: "We witnessed a new record this year in the last Thursday of most segments of Israel - which was high not only on a regular day but also compared to last year. As expected, the more expensive the products are, the more pronounced the increase was last year. It is important to note that even on the day of shopping fever, consumers discovered the required responsibility, and compared prices: the more the store offered more lucrative deals, the more we saw an increase in daily revenue. "
