Election Commission CEO Attorney Orly Adas said Monday that if it is decided to advance the elections to the 23rd Knesset, the Election Commission will make every effort to hold them as soon as possible and the earliest date is Tuesday, February 25.

These words were said by Adas at a meeting with MK Avi Nissenkorn's regular committee of MKs, who asked to know the earliest date on which the election committee could hold the elections. So far it has been talked about that if the elections are premeditated they will be held in mid-March.

However, an internal Election Commission document prepared following the proposals to shorten the election timetable states that "out of the 90 days of an election campaign, the Commission has a total of only 64 to 65 working days. During this period, a substantial amount of operational - logistical work is carried out. And legally - in no way given the brief in view of the election law provisions and the timetable for their implementation, and in view of the many different and complex work procedures and expected challenges. "

Remember, if a new government is not formed by midnight next Wednesday, and a 14-day extension for one of the candidates is not to be established, the Knesset will be dissolved and the Knesset plenum will determine the exact date on which the 23rd Knesset elections will take place.
