The average scores of Hong Kong students in three abilities: science, reading, and mathematics were 517, 527, and 551 respectively. Hong Kong students ranked fourth in the world in reading and math skills, down two places from the previous session, and lost third-place seats; science skills ranked ninth.
According to the latest rankings, Macau students have surpassed Hong Kong in the above three abilities respectively, and their scientific, reading and math abilities rank third in the world. China's participating regions are Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang Province, and won the first place in the above three capabilities.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong Institute of Education's Hong Kong Centre for the International Assessment of Student Ability (PISA) announced today (6th) the results of the 2018 study. PISA is planned by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.In 2018, 79 countries or regions participated in the assessment. The 15-year-old students' basic abilities in reading, math and science and the factors affecting their learning were compared. . PISA is held every three years, and PISA 2018 is the seventh edition. The official test was conducted from April to May 2018, and a total of about 6,037 students from 152 secondary schools participated in the computer test.
In 2018, PISA joined a new project to assess students' ability to master global issues (Global Citizenship), to see whether students can controversially answer and answer questions based on facts, and how tolerant of various perspectives.
