The Supreme Court (Tuesday) partially upheld the state's appeal in the Ashdod Port case, and convicted Alon Hassan of two misdemeanor and public employee misdemeanors, as well as two misdemeanor and breach of trust in the corporation. Alongside this, the state's appeal for Hassan's acquittal was dismissed with one indictment.

Hasan served at the relevant times as chairman of the Ashdod Port Workers' Committee. During that time, he had family ties, corporate relationships and business relationships with Dana Logistics Ltd., which operated in the port areas and provided various services to its customers.

The Supreme Court convicted Hassan unanimously of a felony and breach of trust by a public servant and of a fraud and breach of trust in a corporation. In his cap as chairman of the workers committee, Hassan issued protocols from the Ashdod Port Board of Directors and an internal audit report of the port, submitting them to Dana, placing itself in a clear conflict of interest in the results of legal proceedings taken by Dana against the port.

In addition, he was convicted most of the offense of fraud and breach of trust by a public servant, and of a fraud and breach of trust in the corporation, for his involvement in the "scrap exporters" affair. Hasan attended the meeting as chairman of the workers 'committee, which was designed to find a solution to the port workers' strike, during which scrap loading was stopped on ships. This work can be resumed.

The court emphasized that although he left Hassan's credit in some of the charges, the overall picture shows that Hassan often drove to Ashdod port to some extent as he failed. He was not afraid to stir his hands on many issues, even if these issues were uninteresting or more serious - that this intervention might be considered inappropriate behavior. Hassan, it was determined, followed the fine line separating criminal behavior from the one who is not, and although not found to be convicted in some of the criminal law charges, this does not constitute a position on their administrative-disciplinary standing.

The court returned Hassan's case to the Beersheba District Court for sentencing.
