The artist Salma Al Masri was the guest of today at the activities of the book of children 2 held by the Ministry of Culture under the title (reading advances minds) in the National Library of Assad.
The meeting, which comes within the event of a meeting with an artist in the exhibition daily, said the Egyptian artist in a statement to SANA: "Meeting with children in general gives us energy, joy and strength, dealing with them is the highest in life because they represent innocence, honesty and hope."
She continued: “The book of the child is very important, a step calculated for the Ministry of Culture because children are the pillars of the future of the country and must pay attention to them and their minds today doubly to overcome the effects of war, especially those who were directly affected by this war during the past years.”
The Egyptian artist called on all those involved in the art movement in television drama, cinema and theater to produce art works directed to the child taking into account their artistic tastes and ideas and carry awareness and care for them in various fields to take their hands and open horizons for them and develop their talents to be men and women of the future.
Malik Yassin, Director of Child Culture at the Ministry of Culture, said: “The existence of role models is important for children, so we were keen at this festival to hold dialogue events between artists and children, which reflects the understanding of children for life and dealing with the arts and allows them to ask questions that concern them in front of these artists” Considering that the activities held by the Ministry of Culture respect the minds of children and proceed from partnership with them and take their initiatives into account always.
The Children's Book Fair 2 runs until the 8th of this month and includes many daily events including film screenings, interviews with artists, artistic and literary workshops, seminars, concerts and concerts at Al-Assad National Library.
