2019 will record a historic record in Israeli departures abroad. By the end of the year, 9.1 million Israelis are expected to depart abroad, as a share of the Israeli population.

In the last 11 months - January to November - 8.5 million Israeli departures abroad were registered, an increase of 8% compared to 2018. Between 2015 and 2019 the number of Israeli departures abroad rose by 44%. This is evident from data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Between January and November of this year, 7,670,400 Israelis flew abroad, compared with 7,247,100 in the same period last year, an increase of 5.9%.

Israeli port departures also landed an impressive increase during this period, with 736,700 Israelis leaving the country from the land border crossings, rising by 25.5%. For the Sinai, 481,400 Israelis have passed through the Taba crossing since the beginning of the year, a 31.8% jump.

To Jordan via the various border crossings, and from Saudi Arabia to the Gulf states, 255,300 Israelis departed from the beginning of the year, rising by 15.1%: through the Jordan River crossing 98,200 Israelis, through the Allenby Passage 85,100 Israelis, through the 72,000 Arabs crossing.

By sea, 90,900 Israelis departed abroad from the beginning of the year, compared with 59,900 Israelis departing from the sea in the corresponding months of 2018.

In the last three months - September to November - 770,000 Israeli departures abroad were registered per month, 2,310,000 Israelis in total. By air, an average of 694,000 Israelis departed during this period and a total of 2,082,000 Israelis.

In November alone, 550,900 Israeli departures were registered abroad, with 499,800 of them via Ben Gurion Airport. In addition, 9,400 Israelis went abroad on a cruise.
