A woman was attacked Monday morning while on the subway platform in the Crown Heights neighborhood of New York, just because she was Jewish.
A woman wearing a black coat and red pants began shouting at the woman with harsh anti-Semitic remarks. "A jewish Jew, a Jew with a wig. According to the woman, the woman even threatened to throw her on the tracks.
Immediately after the incident, which ended only with verbal assault, the woman approached the police and filed a complaint about an anti-Semitic attack. She thanked local media for organizing guards to assist her. "I hope to never again experience what I experienced today. It was very scary when she turned to me and said she was going to push me on the tracks."
In the first nine months of the year, a number of hate crimes against New York Jews rose significantly. Local police reported that by September 2019, 311 hate crimes had occurred against Jews, compared with 250 in the same period last year.
