Border Police undercover arrest two terrorist operatives who planned, among other things, to carry out a terror attack in Jerusalem on Independence Day • View video
Earlier this week, the Jerusalem District Attorney filed an indictment against Ahmed Jabis and Basel Abidat, 21 and 19, of East Jerusalem, for membership in a terrorist organization and prohibition of action on terrorist property. The two, according to the indictment, were members of the ISIS terror organization.

On Wednesday, the video was released documenting the arrest of the two, carried out by Border Fighters, CBS and undercover Border Police. The arrest itself took place on October 28 and was attended by dozens of undercover police officers who stormed the village of Jabal Mukaber.
"It was a pre-planned activity," said the Border Police undercover officer who oversaw the operation. "We had the information about the location of the defendants and once the conditions matured, we exerted censored and visible forces simultaneously in two different houses in the village."
The main publication of the indictment by the Jerusalem District Attorney indicates that the defendants who are members of the ISIS terrorist organization worked together and separately to identify, support and join the ISIS terrorist organization in various ways.
In September 2019, the defendants discussed the possibility of committing murderous terrorist attacks at various centers in the city of Jerusalem or at a military base in the Jordan Valley area, with the aim of killing as many Jews as possible in the name of the organization.
The defendants discussed the possibility of acquiring weapons to carry out a shooting attack during a mass event in Jerusalem on the Town Square in Safra Square and the Sultan Pool during the Independence Day celebrations, with the aim of killing as many Jews as possible. Alternatively, in the event that they could not obtain a weapon, they discussed the possibility of a stabbing attack.
