Experts at the Inquiry Committee: "Trump possible impeachment"
Photo: Reuters, Edit: Amit SimchaThe U.S. House Judiciary Committee convened Wednesday for the second part of the impeachment investigation by U.S. President Donald Trump following the Ukraine-Gate affair. Four constitutional law experts have been summoned to give opening testimony to the commission, which aims to draft indictments against the president.
The trial committee heard from four experts, three Democrats-elected academics and a Republican-elected professor, arguing whether Trump's actions could be considered "serious crimes and misdemeanors of varying degrees" to justify his ouster.
Professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University, the only witness elected by Republicans, said the current evidence does not adequately support Democrats' claims against Trump. However, Turley warned that if President Trump did make the phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalanski, who allegedly called for US military assistance in interrogating political rivals - "If proven," he said, "it could be an impeachment offense."

Trump even condoned the invitation of Ukrainian President to the White House at the opening of the investigation.
