Moscow-Sana

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed his country's concern about NATO plans to increase military spending, stressing that Russia will not get involved in a destructive arms race for the economy.

Asked about NATO's decision to increase military spending, Piskov told reporters today, of course, that confirms our concern about NATO activities, adding that despite some very pragmatic statements about the need to build relations with Russia, it is necessary to know what is The threat to NATO and where it comes from.

Peskov stressed that "Russia will not get involved in the arms race and the race of spending that is harmful to the economy."

NATO suspended scientific and military cooperation with Russia because of the Ukrainian crisis on April 1, 2014. However, it was decided to maintain open channels of communication in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission at the ambassadorial level and above.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that it is expected during the meeting of NATO on 3 and 4 December in London to raise the issue of policy coordination with the Russian Federation, as well as the situation after the abolition of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of medium and short-range missiles.
