An Iranian weapons warehouse has been attacked from the air in the area of al-Hamdan airport near the Syria-Iraq border - local media reported Wednesday. No known damage or injuries are known at this time.

An explosion was reportedly heard in Deir region, eastern Syria, where the border town of al-Bochmal is located. The border area has a large presence of Iranian-supported Shiite Iraqi militias. Because of Iranian activity, this area has become Israel's target and in recent months has been attacked several times off the air.

The reports of the attack come before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during his visit to Lisbon. Speaking to reporters held by Netanyahu prior to his meeting, he said the protests in Iran, Lebanon and Iraq are "an extensive cushion" for weakening the Iranian regime. "I see this as our main goal," Netanyahu added.
