The reclamation project for the three-runway system is still in progress, and the entire three-runway system is expected to be operational by the end of 2024. The Government today proposed to the Legislative Council Panel on Economic Development two projects in the three-runway system, namely the procurement of aviation weather systems to support the three-runway system, and the construction of police facilities.

Police also stated that the proposed base of operations is located on the east side of the aviation support facility site, approximately 5.8 km from the western end of the third runway, so the time to reach it will be significantly reduced. The Observatory proposed new meteorological equipment to support the operation of the three runs, including weather cameras, lidar systems and short-range lidars.
