Officials in the US Navy reported Wednesday to the Associated Press that a US Navy warship seized an Iranian ship and a "large stock" of Iranian-guided missile parts intended for the rebel-held Houthis in Yemen.

The US Navy has claimed that this is the first time a shipment of such advanced missiles has been caught on its way to Yemen, subject to a brutal civil war for several years. The weapon is reportedly in a small ship after a U.S. Navy raid and Coast Guard raid aboard the Arabian Sea.

It was also reported that all weapons found aboard the ship were manufactured in Iran and related to their weapons industry. "The incident demonstrates the continued illegal smuggling of advanced weapons to the Houthi rebels in Yemen," the US Navy told the Associated Press.

The news came during US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the Prime Minister stated that during the meeting, the two would discuss three issues, "Iran, Iran and Iran," according to the prime minister.

Last month, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Iran was launching long-range missiles in Yemen that could potentially have a range of impact on Israel. Netanyahu said: "We will work to thwart Iran's attempt to turn Iraq and Yemen into rocket and missile launch bases against Israel. Iran is planning further attacks. I can confirm this. We are also continuing our plans to thwart this aggression."

Last month, Iran announced to international maritime authorities that two more tankers were hit in the Red Sea, and therefore unsure of moving there, according to the US Wall Street Journal.

Recall that another Iranian tanker was hit in the same area in October. Iran has claimed that over the past six months, a total of three oil tankers have been hit in the Red Sea.

Last April and August, the two other tankers were reportedly attacked. The first incident occurred before the attack on the Gulf of oil in Iran, which Iran denied being involved in. Nevertheless, in the United States, the Islamic Republic was blamed.
