Citizens can download a new HSBC Mobile Banking App to open a new personal integrated wealth management account, HSBC Banking or HSBC Premier Banking account. The entire process of application and approval of citizens will be carried out in the HSBC Hong Kong Mobile Banking App. It will be completed within 10 minutes at the earliest and the account number will be obtained immediately.
HSBC stated that citizens only need to fill in personal information, take photos of Hong Kong Permanent Resident Smart Identity Cards and selfies in the app, and use face recognition technology to verify the identity of the applicant, without the need to provide proof of address to complete the account opening procedures.
After successful, you can immediately handle basic banking services, such as receiving payments and setting payment limits. However, withdrawals or online transfers will take effect after two working days.
However, citizens should pay attention to the following points when using HSBC's new services. First, the applicant must be a Hong Kong permanent resident aged 18 to 65 and do not hold any HSBC bank account, investment account or credit card; second, the current service only temporarily supports iOS mobile device account opening; third, Android Mobile device services will be launched later; fourth, the new service does not support application for investment accounts.
