Yang Jiahui's Silence Situation # 22: Silenced Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony

Yang Jiahui is the only local artist shortlisted this time. The blank symphony and deliberate silencing rhythm allow the audience to change from focusing on the melodious music to listening carefully to the breathing of the musician, the unveiling of the score, and the subtle expression of the musician's performance, making the daily forgotten subtle noise Head up again to become the protagonist. During the interview, Yang Jiahui pointed out that the work was created in 2017, and he also chose the rhythmic "Tchaikovsky Fifth Symphony". In the past six months, there has been chaos in Hong Kong. He does not deny that in this climate, he also expects audiences to have different interpretations.

Liang Shuo "In the Peak"

In the layers of bamboo sheds, shouldn't there be holes? "In the Peak" is a large-scale outdoor installation. Liang Shuo, an artist from Beijing, is good at using recycled materials to transform specific structures. This time he uses a bamboo shed commonly used in Hong Kong architecture to build this delicate space that is isolated from reality. Upstairs, the plastic flowers and autumn leaves hanging on the scaffold project the landscape phenomenon of Chinese classical gardens onto the contemporary architecture with playfulness, shifting the concepts of time, space and space. Among them, in addition to looking up at the blue sky, walking on the zigzag promenade, you can also overlook the Victoria Peak and the M + building under construction through two small windows, and experience the intertwined atmosphere of ancient and modern.

Tao Hui "Hello, end!

Nine square televisions are arranged neatly, showing different farewells. The 9 masters with very different backgrounds called to say goodbye to the other party of the microphone, with the final chapters such as doomsday and death. At first glance, the TV array looks like rows of tombstones, adding sorrow and sorrow.

Lin Yilin, "The Second 1/3 List", "Behind", "Typhoon"

Lin Yilin, born and working in Guangzhou and New York, uses his unique performance art as a fascinating image. One of the works, Back, was filmed in Rome, Italy, the birthplace of Western law. He wore a Franciscan monk's suit and read the content of the newly revised Constitution of the People's Republic of China in Italian in front of the landmark Roman temple. Each language version was made into a rope, wrapped around the body and rolled on the ground, and invited onlookers to tug together with a paper rope. The work explores identity politics through various dislocations and different phases, and also shows that the law is inescapable to the individual, and presents itself as the result of multilateral confrontation and pull.

Hu Xiaoyuan's Stone Obstacles

Spring silkworms spin silk and become light "绡", which also becomes the material of this artist's work. Hu Xiaoyuan wraps daily objects such as fruit and worn utensils, giving new meaning. 4 As time progresses and the seasons change, the packages decay and decay, making viewers think about the changing weight and true meaning of all things.

Shen Yan's "Provocation by Nightingale"

Rather than a pure artistic aesthetic, it is more appropriate to describe the work of the times as challenging history and gender awareness. The private conversation between the two women raised the curiosity of the viewers and revealed the tragic fate of the women.
