"Hillary Clinton is hiding a lesbian affair with her personal assistant," the headline of the National Aquarium newspaper said in 2013. Clinton "could be our first lesbian president," a radio presenter said that year. "Is Hillary Clinton a Lesbian?", The 2016 Jewish Business News newspaper wondered.

Rumors of the former presidential candidate have been circulating throughout the media and public discourse at least since the early 1990s. Conservative blogs and liberal news outlets and sensational tabloids, however in an interview with Stern, the former senator dispelled the myth.
The rumored discovery left the veteran presenter stunned, excited and demanding that Clinton swear by never having an affair with my grandfather. Clinton, for her part, responded with a chuckle, saying: "Never! Not even tempted, thank you very much for your interest." Regarding the close relationships she has had over the years with women who have been the cause of rumors over the years, she said: "Probably everything I do can be suspect."
Criticism of Clinton was not overdue and Trish Benedix, a US entertainment and community affairs reporter, said she was "disappointed" by Clinton's comments. "It looks like public figures like Hillary Clinton feel the need to spread lesbian rumors to cause media noise. There is a way to disprove wrong thoughts about your identity without saying things that hurt other people. "
