Iran-Russia talks on ways to implement the stable isotopes project are underway, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization spokesman Behrouz Kamalundi said.

Kamalundi said in a statement today that after the resumption of the activity of centrifuges at the Fordow facility after the Iranian president instructed to implement the fourth phase of the reduction of nuclear pledges a technical problem has emerged on the production of uranium and stable isotopes and talks with the Russian side on them, adding that talks are going on ways to implement this project Without technical problems.

On the inauguration of the secondary part of the Arak heavy water reactor, which was scheduled to take place in the presence of reporters, Kamalundi said that the attendance program was canceled due to the sudden change in weather conditions and fears of problems in the way of this visit, but the project was implemented according to schedule.

Kamalundi said the main cover of the Arak heavy water reactor, weighing more than 100 tons, had been successfully installed last week and that the completion of other parts, including the control room of the reactor, was proceeding quickly.

Russia's state-run Rosatom company said it had told the Iranian side to suspend its work on the production of stable isotopes for medical purposes at Iran's Fordow facility for technical reasons.

Iran and Russia signed a cooperation document in stable isotope production at the Fordow site in 2016.
