U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not waiting for the investigation into Donald Trump's case in the Ukraine-Gate affair and has already decided that Trump must stand trial, just a day after the initial report was published.

Yesterday, Pelosi announced to the House Judiciary Committee that indictments should be drawn against President Trump. In effect, she promised that Trump would be the third president in American history to be prosecuted under impeachment proceedings. He was preceded by Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson.

Recall, the House of Representatives began investigating the affair a few weeks ago following an anonymous complaint against the president, on suspicion of giving US military aid to Ukraine with political assistance in the election campaign against former Vice President Joe Biden, the leading candidate in the Democratic presidential race.

"The president left us no choice but to act because he is trying again to tilt the election process in his favor," she said. "There is no shadow of a doubt about the facts - the president has misused his authority to generate personal political capital at the expense of our national security," Pelosi said yesterday.

Trump, as is his custom, did not hesitate to send in Pelosi, saying he was not afraid of trial. "They have no case, and they are disrespectful of our country," he tweeted. "They've already given up the whole issue of the Muller report, and now they're trying to hang on two talks I had with the Ukrainian president, which were perfectly correct ... they're going to prosecute me for nothing."

Trump’s impeachment process in the House of Commons continues

Because Democrats have a majority in the House of Representatives, the indictment is expected to be approved in the plenum by Christmas, after which the Senate impeachment trial will open. For now, there seems to be no feasibility of a conviction, since the Senate is ruled by Republicans, and they are loyal to the president.
