Prime Minister Sara Netanyahu's wife said Monday during a joint visit with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at a memorial in Rosio Square in Lisbon in memory of Jews slaughtered in the Inquisition, because what the two have been going through in recent years is considered "Inquisition." Netanyahu said this in response to the question of journalist Shalom Yerushalmi from the "Time News" news site: "What worse inquisition, what have you done or what they once did?" The prime minister's wife hesitated and then replied: "There is something to it, I do not rule out the question." Netanyahu went on to say to the reporter that she was "glad you understand that this is an inquisition for us."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later mentioned his father, Benzion Netanyahu, who was studying the history of the deportation of Spanish and Portuguese Jews. In a short time, Netanyahu will meet with Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa. This is Netanyahu's second visit to Portugal, when his first visit was in his first term in 1996.

Netanyahu's visit to Portugal came as a result of Netanyahu's meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Lisbon last night. At the beginning of their meeting, Netanyahu said that "the first, second and third issues I will raise - will be Iran." PM Sharon said US President Donald Trump has "implemented a consistent policy of pressure on Iran."
Netanyahu declined to respond to reports of an attack on the Iranian and Iraqi weapons depots, but said "Iran is trying to attack us from many places in the region and we are constantly dealing with this aggression. The United States is key in this deal."
