Two residents of Bnei Brak were arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of manufacturing and selling dangerous drugs to the public. This is part of an initiative of the Israeli police, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the IRS. Both suspects, in their 70s, operated a home remedies and ointment lab in their apartment. Today, they will be remanded in Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.
Instead, large quantities of ointments and boxes were seized for sale as medical substances and which, it is suspected, contain hazardous substances that pose a danger to public safety. In addition, tens of thousands of shekels and thousands of dollars were seized, which were hidden in the apartment. Enforcement officials suspect that the money that was hidden represents the profits made by the suspects from the sale of hazardous substances to the public and which, moreover, were not reported to the IRS.
