The Israeli-American Community Association's annual conference will open today in Hollywood, South Florida, and host approximately 3,800 Israelis and American Jews from across the United States and the world.
The inaugural event will be held at 8 pm (US time), with the organization's major donors - Dr. Miriam Adelson and Sheldon Adelson, philanthropist Silvan Adams, as well as Israeli Eurovision winner Neta Barzilai. US President Donald Trump is expected to address the keynote address on Saturday night.
The keynote address will be given tonight by Yiftach Ramon, the son of the late Ilan Verona Ramon (see separate article on this page), who traveled to the United States to visit the Canadian space facility from which Columbia took off with his father - the first Israeli astronaut. He will tell of his choice to continue his mother Rona's path in educational activities for the children of Israel.
Also speaking on opening night will be Racheli Frankel, of the Unity Day Initiative, whose son Naftali was among the three boys kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in 2014; Yehonatan Weintraub, one of the founders of SPACEIL, the association that was one of the leaders in the project to land the "Genesis" probe on the moon; Outgoing Chairman of the Organization, Adam Milstein; Incoming Chair Nati Seydoff, and CEO, Nicholas.
During the conference, there will be panels attended by academics, community leaders, businessmen, media and politicians from Israel and around the world.
