Hela Schmidt, European Union foreign policy chief, stressed the importance of intensifying efforts by all parties to maintain the Iranian nuclear deal.

"We have a collective responsibility to preserve their nuclear agreement ... All participants are required to inform their capitals of the need to intensify efforts by all parties," Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Schmidt as saying in a tweet at the end of the meeting of the Joint Commission for the Nuclear Deal in Vienna.

The European official affirmed that during the meeting, a decision was welcomed by 6 European countries, namely "Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and the Netherlands" to join the financial mechanism for dealing with Iran "Instex".

On May 8th, US President Donald Trump announced his country's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the "five plus one" group in 2015, while the European countries that signed the agreement announced that they adhered to it and fully implemented it.
