All 24 Democratic Legislative Councillors issued a joint letter with more than 300 current and pending district councillors, asking the government to draw up on the civil service pay increase agenda. The police pay rise is considered independently.
The signing letter states that the government is applying for funding from the Legislative Council to bundle a uniform raise for civil servants. The signing letter stated that in the past six months, "the police force has become a political thug, police brutality and over arrests have been publicly staged, and violations of laws and regulations have no control. The degree of corruption has far exceeded social cognition, and more than 50% of the citizens have received zero points."
Members of the Democratic Legislative Council and District Councils therefore signed a joint request, asking the civil servants to raise the agenda, and draw the police force for independent review. Do not "scratch a pot of porridge because of a piece of mouse dung," and call on all members of the Legislative Council to veto the increase.
In the storm of anti-revision cases that have continued since June, the police's handling methods have often been questioned. A survey released by the Hong Kong Institute of Public Opinion showed that the public's satisfaction with the Police Force was only 35.3 points, of which 40% of the respondents gave Zero points, the satisfaction rate is 27%, the dissatisfaction rate is 65%, and the net satisfaction value is negative 38 percentage points.
