The Russian security service announced that its members with the participation of Belarusian security managed to seize a network to smuggle weapons, ammunition and drugs and arrest its members.
The Russian website quoted sources in the security service as saying that an operation carried out by Russian security agents in cooperation with their Belarusian counterparts yesterday and today in the provinces of Novgorod and Leningrad resulted in the arrest of a criminal activity organizer for smuggling arms and ammunition from abroad and the sale of drugs in addition to six activists in the criminal group.
The source added that as a result of the field investigation, various weapons were seized, including Degtyarov machine guns, rifles and pistols, as well as ammunition of various caliber and a quantity of narcotic substances (amphetamine and cocaine).
